Résumé :
ryanair is an Irish flying company which was founded in 1985 by the Ryan family. Its business idea is to offer cheap flights in Europe. It has grown from a small family company to a big quoted company with over 40 million passengers a year. ryanair is owned by different investing companies, so despite the family company background it is not family-owned. As the flying business is facing some difficulties nowadays, we were interested what would happen to ryanair's success story. The fuel prices are rising all the time, and the markets are very intensely competitive. In addition, security issues are also making the flying business even more challenging. It is really interesting to look deeper in to the business and into ryanair, one of the leading airline companies in it. This is why we want to analyse ryanair's strengths to face the setbacks and the keys to the success. ryanair's ordinary shares are primarily quoted on the Irish Stock Exchange Limited. The ordinary shares are quoted also on the London Stock Exchange. ryanair's ADSs, which represent five ordinary shares each, are quoted on the Nasdaq. ryanair got listed on the Irish Stock Exchange in the year 1997 and on London in the year 1998. Like all listed companies in the EU, ryanair is doing its financial statement according to IFRS. ryanair is not only competing with price, but it focuses in good quality too. In flying business quality is measured for example as flights on-time, lost luggage and customer satisfaction. In these times its highest priority is the safety of the passengers.
