Here are a few tips that might be helpful when writing an essay:

1. You might want to start by stating the objectives of your essay:
- What do you want to demonstrate in your essay?
- This will help you delineate the scope and contour of your essay.

2. Then, write an outline in order to lay out your ideas in a logical manner:
- Organize your main ideas in major sections (two to four is probably a good number), and underline them.
- For each main section, write your supporting ideas in bullet point form below the titles.

3. Once your outline is ready, you can write the introduction:
- Try to captivate your reader’s attention in the first few sentences, going from the general to the specific.
- State your topic. This sounds obvious, but you should assume that the readers of your work may not have read the title or topic of your essay.
- Explain the objective of your essay. This will help the reader understand where you are going to take him or her.

4. After that, write the conclusion:
- Sum up your ideas
- Give a final perspective
5. And finally, write the essay. Use your outline:
- For each section, start by stating the main idea
- Then write sentences around the supporting ideas you have in bullet point form. Go into detail and offer examples to help clarify your point.

6. Above all, have fun when you are writing!
