Europe versus America

A real gap exists between European and american economies. GDP, GDP per capita as well as productivity are much higher in the US than in europe. These figures show the american dynamism, and cannot be denied. And after the 9/11 events, one could have thought that the american economy would enter a recession... figures prove the contrary ! Yet, the official figures are slightly biased in favour of the US, due to different ways of calculation for example.
Making a comparison between europe and the US has always been very interesting because one could say that the two continents are certainly the most powerful of the world. So, the two economies and their figures have to be analysed carefully because they may not be very objective or subtle to analyse.
