In 2002, the sales turnover (price detail) of the world market of wine rises to 101.5 billion euros, exactly the equivalent of the market of cosmetic and 3 times the market of the disc. The sales turnover in volume rises to 224.8 million consumed hectolitres.
Today we can see an increase in the international exchanges on the market of the wines: +12.2% of 1997 to 2001. These exchanges represent 63.7 million hectolitres t. The wines of the New World continue their rise: Australia, Chile, the United States, and South Africa.
They represent an increasingly important threat for the European countries, in particular France, Italy and Spain, which will have to govern to maintain their positions
