La période victorienne (1837-1901)

The adjective Victorian came from Queen Victoria, who ruled from 1837 to 1901 over Great Britain. She was the longest reigning monarch in British History.
The Victorian period was a prosperous period for Great Britain and its Empire, and this country became the first nation in the world. At the end of the 19th century, the British Empire was enormous and Victoria was the most powerful sovereign of her time. It was also a prosperous period for Arts.
But this period was also marked by a huge gap between rich and poor people.
