Résumé :
This paper attempts to analyze rave culture from a sociological standpoint. It is an overview, not an in-depth analysis of any one aspect of rave culture. Included here are sections on the history of rave culture, rave spirituality, and rave politics, especially in relation to anarchist philosopher Hakim Bey's writings on the creation of a Temporary Autonomous Zone. The ultimate section also analyses the appropriation of rave culture by the State.
In all my written report I will try to show you in what sense the american rave culture constitutes a counterculture worthy of the name.
rave vb. 1 a: to talk irrationally in or as if in delirium b: to speak out wildly c: to talk with extreme enthusiasm 2 to move or advance violently.
