One form of this control is the use of pesticides to keep crops, and various locations free of insects, some of which are carriers of disease. While humans are rampantly using these pesticides and insecticides, many remain blissfully unaware of the longterm effects and harm which said pesticides can wreak upon the environment. While many believe that these effects are irrevocable, there are those who do believe that change can be made. Only through education can humanity eventually repair the damage caused to earth.

SummarySociety is no stranger to flaws in its history. America, in particular, has a lengthy laundry list of shameful blotches on the angelic record it tries to portray. Because of this, partial truths are often told to cover up the true intensity of the mistakes. Partial truths are used to hover surreptitiously over an accurate account while discussing the harder points of the past, yet they aren’t entirely honest. However, the United States is not the only repeat offenders of partial truths. Many nations, organizations, and people have a long history with partial truths. There are an incredible number of examples of partial truths that were used throughout the past. Two men with an authoritative amount of knowledge on this matter are Burton Bollag, author of “A Confrontation with the Past: The Japanese Textbook Dispute,” and Howard Zinn, author of The People’s History of the United States. These two authors have done extensive research in matters of partial truths concerning countries and legacies. Their texts break down and discuss the hidden past of the Japanese and the not-so-hidden truth of Christopher Columbus. Also, I will consult a personal essay I wrote on the concept of Santa Clause and why we spin lies for children at young ages. Words and ideas within these works can adequately prove partial truths are used to disguise the absence of integrity while at the same time, insulting those it is cast upon.

SummaryEnvironmentalism is a concept that has been long argued on many fronts. There is a large rift between those who scream for the need to protect our planet and those who could not care less. Now, with the planet moving closer and closer to possible biological peril, we find ourselves stopping to consider arguments we might have never heard before – or perhaps we’ve heard them before but are just listening to them for the first time. We suddenly find ourselves taking Marge Piercy’s poem, “The Common Living Dirt,” close to heart. But then we open our ears to ecological pessimists like Rachel Carson and Octavia Butler and wonder, “is it too late?” Unfortunately, it may be. There is no reason not to appreciate the gentle, optimistic approach that Piercy provides when she implores us to “worship […] on our knees, the common living dirt” (Piercy 372). However, it does not coincide with our current lifestyles as a nation or even a planet. I fear it may be too late for society to fix its previous errors and mistakes in environmental protection due to our gluttonous desire for selfishness and instant gratification

In order for the first condition to be satisfied, the state should have a forceful army, which is provided with all the supplies it might need during its military activity. The second condition can be satisfied with having a strong central and local government. The significance of Peter I’s reign in Russia is that he became a tsar in the country, which was weak in both international and domestic arena, and left a powerful nation to his successors. This was achieved by four of his major reforms: army reform, tax reform, central and local government reform, and church reform. The first two were aimed at building the strong army, and the latter two were designed for strengthening the Russian government.

Summary When digging deeply into Aristotle’s “The Rhetoric” it only begs the question of the origins of the author. Many of us learn about Aristotle’s legacy in grade school and learn about his works. However, many of us also fail to learn the basic elements that made Aristotle who he was then and what he is today.
Aristotle was born in 384 B.C in Stagirus [a popular Greek colony]. His father was a physician to the King of Macedonia and from there Aristotle began a career of philosophy and educational entanglement (Berkeley).
He learned under the tutelage of Plato for nearly twenty years and from there he began a rather successful career himself on the side of rhetoric and scientific reasoning. Aristotle took a divergence from Plato’s train of though on several occasions but none bigger then their disagreement on the spiritual infusion of God and higher beings as a whole. This is where Aristotle and Plato broke off and Aristotle began his own practice (Griffin, 319).
Aristotle was well known throughout his time for his logic, reasoning and a syllogism known as deduction. Deduction played a major role in his teachings and belief systems. In order for Aristotle to believe something there had to be an element of touch and reality. Without this, nothing could be truly there. Therefore God could not exist in the present like many of us believe [ha, simple deduction!].

Although the original experiment was destroyed after collection day six, data from other groups proved the hypothesis to be correct and carried on where the plants left off.
