The advancement of computer technologies has served as the basis for the evolution of organizations. In recent years, the proliferation of wireless technologies has made it possible for employees to work more independently, in some cases eliminating the need for an office. These advances have been so profound that they are reshaping the way in which organizations conceptualize their growth and development. While the development of wireless technologies has clearly been a boon for both employees and organizations, for information technology (IT) professionals, the proliferation of wireless technologies has brought considerable concern and worry. This is because, despite the utility of wireless technologies, the ability to maintain security on wireless networks continues to remain a pervasive challenge for IT professionals. Thus, at a time when wireless technologies are proliferating in the organization, IT professionals must clearly identify and define the safety protocols that can be used to protect the integrity of the organizations vital information. If steps are not taken to ensure the security of wireless technologies, the organization could face serious breaches of its internal data.

The idea of the borderline eating disorder has been surfacing more and more recently in popular culture. Feminist theorists such as Susan Bordo and Hilde Bruch have been wrestling with this concept and its definition for quite some time. In order to address the borderline eating disorder, we must understand our cultures thin ideology and how that is perpetuated. It is also crucial to examine other sources of eating disorders, such as abuse and personal control, and what these sources mean to the eating disorder category. Ultimately, though such broad conclusions are hard to formulate, I hope that we can gain a better understanding of the origins of thin cultural standards, how those are played out on womens bodies and perceptions of themselves, and what the borderline eating disorder category means in comparison to the full-blown version so many view as the extreme.
- The insistence today is that women must be thin to be worthwhile.
- This need for physical restraint and control over the physical self is tied up with the idea that mind and body work more closely than some would like to believe.
- Women are known to develop eating disorders as a reaction to trauma as well (Schwartz and Cohn 17).
- As anorexic mindset, similar to that of an orthorexic, feels empowerment from being able to abstain from eating as a form of control (Bruch 74).
- These must be a balance between excessive weight control and indulgent self-acceptance without concern for personal health.
- Is the borderline eating disorder, if consciously known to its owner, a safe alternative, in need of treatment, or just as detrimental as an easily-named eating disorder?
- There are few clear answers, and half of the time, we do not even have a clear definition of the things we try to solve.

Introduction
Shapiro (2004) notes that approximately 195,000 patients die each year as a result of medical errors. While scholars and researchers are working to address the myriad of causes that contribute to patient mortality in the healthcare setting, there is ample evidence to suggest that improving physician handwriting can have a positive impact toward reducing mortality associated with medical errors. In an effort to examine this issue, research on the impact of physician handwriting on both patient care and financial outcomes was examined. The results of the investigation demonstrated that poor physician handwriting had a detrimental impact on both the care of the patient and increased healthcare costs. For these reasons, it is recommended that programs be put in place to improve physician handwriting.Although the present study provides a more integral understanding of the challenges facing healthcare professionals in the workplace, it is important to consider the impact of this research on nursing practice. With this in mind, this brief overview considers how the research study meets the seven objectives of this course. Through a careful consideration of each objective and a critical review of the current investigation it will be possible to demonstrate how the research does indeed meet the objectives of the course and improve understanding of the issue for nursing professionals.

Introduction
Over the course of the last 15 years, marked advancements have been made in the social and medical understanding of the development of children. While increased knowledge has lead to the creation of improved services to help children with learning and behavioral disorders it has also bread a host of negative stereotypes and some confusion with respect to the specific characteristics that encompass many disorders. Such is the case with ADHD, attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder. Even though the symptoms of ADHD have been recorded in the medical literature for more than 100 years, it has not been until recently that this condition has been fully defined by the medical community (Hardman, Drew, & Egan, 2005). Despite increased knowledge about ADHD and improved services to help children with this condition, problems defining symptoms, etiology and assessments for the condition remain a pervasive issue for medical professionals, psychologists and educators. For this reason, there is a clear impetus for all health professionals to acquire a concise understanding of ADHD, its etiology and the specific assessments that can be used for diagnosis. Using this as a basis for research, this investigation considers a broad overview of the condition, and a review of the formal and informal assessments, teaching strategies, interventions, and supports used for students with ADHD.

Introduction
Over the course of the last several years, medical professionals and psychologists have developed a wide range of new methods for categorizing and classifying disease and dysfunction. Among the most inched in classifications to be made in recent years has been the diagnosis of trichotillomania. As indicated by its name, this condition represents a significant problem with the individual's impulse control. Specifically, the American psychological Association in the DSM-IV-TR (2000) has noted that, trichotillomania is the recurrent process of pulling out one's hair. The disorder involves increasing tension before the hair is pulled out and the experience of gratification once the act is complete. In order for a diagnosis of trichotillomania to be complete, the individual must experience significant distress from hair pulling which results in social or occupational impairment.
For most laypeople, a diagnosis of trichotillomania may seem quite unusual. The act of pulling out one's hair is not a typical behavior. However, to professionals working in psychology, individuals presenting with this condition can pose a considerable threat to their overall health and well-being. For this reason, professionals need to understand this condition and the implications that it has for the overall development of the individual.

Introduction
Over the course of the last several decades notable advances have been made in medical science. Because of these advances, it is now possible for physicians to identify medical conditions and alleviate them before they become a chronic health concern for the patient. Such is the case with scoliosis. Defined as an abnormal curve of the spine1, scoliosis can have a significant impact on the individuals health and quality of life. As such, early diagnosis and treatment of this disease are critical for improving health outcomes for the patient. With the realization that scoliosis poses such a unique challenge and threat to the individual and his or her quality of life, there is a clear impetus to examine this condition such that a more integral understanding of scoliosis can be garnered. To this end, this investigation provides a broad overview of scoliosis including its development, health complications and treatment modalities for the patient. Through a careful consideration of the current medical literature on this condition, it should be possible to provide a complete understanding of this disease and the challenge that it presents for both patients and physicians.

Over the course of the last two decades, biotechnology has become a significant part of the scientific community. The contributions made by biotechnology have notably changed the way in which scientists and laymen look at the potential of science to improve life. The field of biotechnology has become so large in recent years that scientists have been forced to break the profession down by specific subgroups of work. Currently, biotechnology consists of the red, white and green subfields, each of which deals with a specific area of biotechnology.
With the realization that biotechnology has grown so extensively in the last several years, there is a clear impetus to examine this field such that a more integral understanding of biotechnology can be garnered. Utilizing the three subfields of biotechnologyi.e. read, white and greenthis investigation provides a broad overview of the most notable developments that have taken place in these fields. Through a careful review of what has been written on these subfields of biotechnology, it will be possible to elucidate the overall impact that biotechnology is having on both science and the general public.

In recent months, Africa has been widely mentioned in the popular press. While the focus of this media attention has been the AIDS epidemic that is occurring in the region, it is important for Westerners to understand that there are a host of other pervasive problems occurring in the region. In particular, soil degradation and water pollution have been identified as critical issues for the development of Africa. With the realization that these problems represent such a challenging problem for the development of Africa, there is a clear impetus to examine the scope of the problem and identify potential solutions. Using this as a basis for investigation, this research considers the causes of soil degradation and water pollution in Africa. In addition, this research examines what other countries and regions have done to address these issues in the past. Through a synthesis of the information, it will be possible to identify key ideas that may provide Africa with a solid framework for improving these environmental problems.
Environmental and social factors that may aid or hinder development in Africa will also be addressed.

In his State of the Union Address, President Bush made the observation that the United States had become addicted to foreign oil. The recent surge in gas prices is clearly reflective of this addiction. Americans have become so reticent in their oil usage that they are now willing to pay in excess of $50,000 for a vehicle that has a fuel efficiency of less than 10 miles per gallon. Given this blatant disregard for oil use, it is not surprising to find that the worlds oil reserves are diminishing at an alarming rate. In addition to the fact that oil is being used by the global community by an alarming rate, research also demonstrates that the continued burning of fossil fuels continues to spur global warming. While some critics argue that global warming is not occurring, it is clear that carbon dioxide emissions are increasing all over the planet.Arguably, the burning of fossil fuels is having a detrimental impact on both the economy and the environment. With this in mind, many scientists have begun looking for cleaner, renewable sources of energy that can save the environment while reducing the costs associated with producing energy.

Abstract
In recent years, nursing practice has been notably impacted by the development of computer technology. As a result the practice of nursing informatics has increased drastically. One of the most notable technologies to develop in this area has been the electronic medical records (ERM) system. The overall benefits and utility that can be garnered through the use of the ERM system has made it a focus for national healthcare development. Despite the benefits of this technology, scholars have noted some daunting drawbacks. This investigation reviews the benefits and drawbacks of ERM systems. Further, it considers the application of these systems to nursing practice and how nurses can facilitate successful development and implementation of electronic medical record systems.
