Résumé :

Everyone knows this famous sentence from Miles in the movie "Cliffhanger": "I like it extreme" when he is speaking about the bad conditions (weather) to make its base jump (jump from anywhere with a parachute).
These last years, extreme sport is with the mode. The figures show that the extreme sport is especially the prerogative of young people from the up social class, it is an evidence easy to make: tennis is annoying, and kick a balloon is becoming boring. The traditional sports are not any more fun, we need more!
The notion
As time goes by, the notion of "Extreme Sport " has been evolved. Between the 1970s and the 1980s, sports considered as "Extremes", were only the ones which risks of fatal accidents in case of error were real. From 1990s, auto-proclamation of extreme sports became common, with the aim of valuing the activity.
Since the 2000s, the definition has considerably become supple, and is classified in this category of sports which offer strong pushes of adrenalin. It is also a variation of classic sports which initially were without dangers and now more hard, more complex or unsafe.

People are looking for news experiences, looking for more adrenalin, looking for sensations, they want to surpass themselves.
The extreme sport's expansion has created a lot of new businesses; many companies owe extreme sports for their growth.
Tourism is taking advantage of these new kinds of activities and creates various offers including the practice of an extreme sport.
