Résumé :

The period after the " Six day war " is " the key period of the History of the contemporary arab East where political regimes [] take their definitive shape ".
It is obvious that this lap of time between 1967 and 1973 was an essential turn in the arab-Israeli conflict because of, firstly, the military fear of Israel and, secondly, the contradictions in the arab unity. This shows how important the political impact of this event was to be.
The main impact was political but there was also a huge economic and human effect. However, one could also say that the economic and human effect followed from the political impact. This is particularly true in countries where everything is ruled by the state, as the arab countries were at this time.
The major result of the Six day war was the occupation of the Golan highs, of the West Bank, of the Gaza Strip and of the Sinai desert.
These " occupied territories " are the seeds of the arab division that will follow. Therefore, the main concern will be to show that the main result of the " Six Day war " was the rise of the division between the palestinian resistance movements and the radical states (Syria, Iraq, Libya and Sudan), on one hand, and, on the other hand, the other arab countries that wanted to find a diplomatic solution (Jordan in particular).
The other main axe will be to demonstrate that Egypt, with its apparently ambiguous behaviour, tried to control this period in order to be the powerful state of this region.
