This report contains the procedure which was
followed by a group of senior students from Virginia Tech’s electrical engineering department to set up a lab where one can witness the combination of wind and solar power generation.
Throughout this report, the basics of wind and solar energies used to produce electric power will be described. Moreover, the wiring and setting of the lab will be widely discussed to provide a
real-life example of the combination of both systems. The purpose of such a laboratory is for students, most likely undergraduate level, to be able to observe the behavior of such an arrangement and collect data for research purposes.
